In the making an SEO friendly content, it’s a pretty straightforward process. It requires content strategy, well-researched data, and discipline. You’ll have to perform keyword research to understand the intent of your audience searches and find out what type of content your audience consumes, spy your audience find the consumer gap, and spy your competitors.

Creating SEO friendly content is important to help your audience, build organic traffic to your website and keep your loyal, not only clients but visitors too. While other ways of distributing content and paid ads to bring you, clients, as long as you keep investing money, SEO is used for long-time strategies that maintain your website visible in search and needs less financial investment.

To get great results, you need not only knowledge, means, tools but also an SEO copywriter, a person that needs to have the skills to do things right based on trio skills that every copywriter should have, like three wise monkeys, and here are my tips:

  • use a natural language of your visitors
  • understand about their problems and have a solution in your content
  • optimized your content

What To Do?

To reach top positions and remain there, you’ll have to do more than writing content. You have to understand your audiences and search engines.

To become one of the professional SEO writers, I have a few tips for you. Here it is:

  • Never write for bots but makes the bots understand. Write to your target audience. The search engine bots never know our exact language and they are not read your content. They just categorized your language as Indonesian, English, Japanese, and etc and recognized there is some content on your website.
  • Do keyword research. Find out which keywords and phrases people are searching for (as well as what you can be competitive in). Make a spreadsheet about which keywords have more search intent and clustering the keywords.
  • Put your targeted keyword in your first 300 words (approx.), including H1, and H2. Not targeting both H1 and H2 but make sure there is one of them in it.
  • Find your evergreen content topics and various type of content. Write as naturally as you possibly can. Don’t set a limitation on your website. Be creative. Look back what trends now happening. Look for your type of content, is that transactional, informational, or navigational based on your website products.
  • Update existing articles. You might think that your old articles especially articles with the highest score was good enough. But hey, don’t forget to update your articles to maintain it well in search engines. It will boost up your website and content ten times better.
  • Pay attention to your structure data. Watch out about the meta element. In your content, you only have one H1 and some H2, H3, H4 inline rules. Don’t put H3 before H1 or put H4 before H2.
  • Add the beauty to your website and content such as videos, pictures, and quotes. Provide uniqueness relevant to your website identity. But don’t forget to pay attention to image and video sizing.
  • Make sure you do internal link building and external link building within the webpages of your site. Understanding how Google crawls pages and hands out link authority can help you build a strategy. After all, content writing isn’t just about writing a singular blog post — it’s about writing (and linking up) a bunch of them.
  • Pay attention to your website speed. If your site has a long time to load content, you might lose your audience.
  • Do audit! Check your site for duplicate content and other content related problems and fix the issues with an SEO audit tool.
  • Build your site into a mobile-friendly site. Why? You know nowadays people with high mobility doesn’t have time to open the news with their laptop or PC. They do with phones and tablets. So, make sure that you’ve got a mobile-friendly site to support them surf your site.

My Personal Tips

Writing for search engine optimization purposes can be difficult and can become a hard-handed job. Yet, you can save any limping piece of content you might have with the strategies explained above.

Try to know your audience and start to write to them. Not for bots or search engines. Hence when you’re writing SEO content, you’re always going to want to go back and edit your content as your analytics start to give you specific insights. Even if you don’t hit gold on your first try, you can keep perfecting your piece of content until it starts to rank.

Likewise, every piece of content you write is yet another notch in your belt. Take your time and happy writing!
