There’s always been an honest deal of confusion within the field of search optimization. Most of the knowledge we gain is by trial and error, and by the time we’ve figured something out the algorithm has already moved on. So, predictably, a good share of SEO advice is speculative, contradictory, and hopelessly outdated.

Today, look at some tactics that might or might not work at this time. Some of them are no more than a waste of time, while others may land you some penalties.

Back then, when the algorithm was not so improved and well-developed, a slight change in the query will produce a different collection of search results. Today, whether you look for business laptops, professional laptops, or laptops for works, you get an almost identical collection of pages that match your intent instead of your choice of words.

1. One Keyword Pages

As you’ll imagine, creating dedicated keyword pages is now obsolete. Why spread yourself thin trying to optimize a dozen pages for as many queries when all of this SEO effort could go towards creating one highly competitive page. To not mention that having dozens of nearly identical pages could also be viewed by Google as spammy and end in an inquiry penalty.

Create one page per topic, not per keyword. Address the subject of the page by using your target keyword, also as its varieties, synonyms, and related search terms.

2. Keyword Density

The idea behind keyword density is that so as for Google to know what the page is a few certain percentages of the copy should contain keywords. At its worst, it had been suggested that the maximum amount as five percent of the text should be a particular match of your target keywords.

Which is roughly once per sentence. There’s no added value in using keywords quite a couple of times per page and people overusing keywords may negatively impact rankings.

Additionally, pursuing keyword density percentages may damage the fluidity of your copy, causing suspicion of both users and search engines and possibly earning you a spam penalty.

Play it safe and use a fanatical to deciding the optimal use of keywords for every given topic. it’ll supply you with writing guidelines supported what’s already working for other websites, including both target keywords and suggested keywords.

3. Page Length

There is a persisting idea within the SEO community that a page has got to be of certain minimum word count to realize top rankings. Some stories showing that long-form content tends to deliver up to 77% more backlinks than short-form content. for a few topics, it could mean 500 words, while for other topics it could mean 10,000 words.

Trying to hide either of these topics in just 1,500 words would end in poor quality content and correspondingly poor rankings. Determine your word calculate a case by case basis. Analyze the pages of your competitors and learn what quite content length is taken into account exhaustive for every particular topic.

4. Keyword Anchors

Furthermore, overly optimized anchors could also be seen as unnatural and an area of a link scheme, warranting a penalty. Appropriate anchor formats include branded anchors, like long-tailed anchors and naked anchors.

5. Content Spinning

Content spinning is updating your content and creating new content by making minor changes to the old content. It is often done manually or by using dedicated software to form a mashup of several similar pages.

Content spinning comes from a time when quantity was prioritized over quality and plenty of posts were necessary to grow a backlink profile and to deliver a gentle stream of content for your website.

Content spinning leads to pages of very inferiority, which are easily identified by Google algorithms and are either ignored or penalized. Add the present year to your title, a disclaimer at the highest of the page, and confirm that each one the facts are mentioned so far.

It takes even as much effort because it would spin a post, except the standard goes up, and therefore the traffic is probably going to be almost like what you’d get from a replacement post.
